Why I'm not sleeping much these days

This is part of an e-mail I received this morning from my son:

I've been shot at more times than I can remember, mortered more times than I can count, had a rocket shot into the house I was sitting in and the other day I got blown up along with the rest of my fire team by an I.E.D. my A gunner and my team leader took shrapnel (dont worry they'll be fine)

One month down. Six more months to go.

Hang tuff Deb! It'll be over before you know it!

But there are things you'd rather not know huh? ;-)

I remember getting an early morning call and hearing about how a RPG skipped off the hood of the HMMV but didn't explode. "It was so cool Dad!" Uh-huh! Please, only need to know intel! :-o

"my A gunner and my team leader took shrapnel (dont worry they'll be fine)"

I had to laugh at that line- he's obviously not a mom! As if your only worry after reading that would be about the gunner and team leader!

{{{Deb}}}

What a mentsch he is.

Definitely falls in the "do not need to know" catagory!

One day at a time...

I was on the MEU last cycle with those guys, I wish I was still with them. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. It's the little things that mean the most to us when we're away from home.

Really useful info here. BTW, I think I read a rather similar article on an additional blog nowadays, truly i'm pretty sure. I 'll check it out and let you know, maybe they copied your content, who knows.
